Portraiture commissions can be arranged with the
artist for an individual, a couple, a family, or a group of
friends. The process entails an initial discussion
between the artist and the individual(s) involved. At that
meeting, we will discuss and arrange a time line for the
entire sculpting process from clay to a completed
bronze; we will discuss the pricing, and, should the
client(s) decide to go forward with a portraiture, we will
provide all individuals involved with a signed contract
agreement. Depending on the complexity of the portrait
requested and/or the group dynamic should the
portraiture involve more than one individual, the
modeling effort typically requires anywhere from three
to five sittings in our studio. At the first sitting, we will
also take a number of digital images for later use in the
sculpting process.
Upon completion of the clay sculpture, the artist
and the client(s) will re-connect in the studio to discuss
any final edits that the client(s) might desire.
The completed clay sculpture is then delivered to
the foundry to be made into a bronze edition which
includes a marble base.
